Jai was getting lost in thought, continuing to think of what he was going to do and what was the right thing to do. His phone beeped implying that he had a text message and he just chose to ignore it not wanting to read something that would make him even more confused. Then Jai heard a little voice, it was Maya. “Hey why are you up go back to sleep I was just going to go get us some food.” he explained as he looked as her and she neared him. Moving his duffle bag off the couch he left a spot open for her to come and sit. “What nothing is wrong, sweetie I am just thinking that is all”

Maya sit down next to him,"Thinking? What you thinking about? Us? My mom?"

[jackie]

Jai looked over at Maya, she looked just like her mother expect mini. He sighed “About a lot of things, you and your mother and brother and sister being some of it.” He told her as he leaned back into the couch. “So let me ask you something Maya, where have you and your mom and brother and sister been staying?” Jai was curious to know where they were in the last few years, he really hoped they weren’t hoping from place to place.

Maya shrugged, "We have a small house here just on the outside of town. It's nothing special but its somewhere to sleep and eat, when my mother eats that is. Me and the twins are taken care of..but my mom does without sometimes for us. She hasn't had it to good since last year at this time she lost her job. That's why we were here. She was trying to get a job at the front desk. But the guy turned her down."

Listening as Maya explained how life was in the past years without him Jai felt even more regretful. “Well Maya.” He paused taking a deep breathe. “Things are going to change now I am going to help you make things get better.” He looked into the little girls eyes and he couldn’t help but smile. “I promise you that you and your brother and sister and mom are going to be happy again.” Jai wasn't big on making promises but to Maya this promise was on he was going to keep.

Maya nodded, "What about your wife, Nina?"

What about your wife Those words that the little girl uttered hit him hard. “ I….” he paused. “I don’t know yet kiddo but you know what I will figure it out” he assured her. “I will figure it out” he said quietly again as he looked down at the floor. Jai didn’t know much about the future at that moment but he knew that he needed to do A LOT of thinking in order to figure things out.

Maya nodded, "Okay. I trust you..my mom loves you so..I guess in the end it will be okay."

[jackie]

Jai smiled as he heard that her mother loved him. “I told you, I promise you it will be okay.” Jai leaned forward and kissed Maya’s forehead. “Now go back to bed I am going to go pick up dinner” Jai stood up and held out his hand for Maya to grab.

[rawrr ;]]

Maya took his hand, smiling.

Jai took her hand and walked her over to the bed and leaned down. “I will be back really soon alright if mom wakes up tell her I went to get her lots of good food okay” Jai whispered as he waited for an answer from the little girl.

Maya nodded, "Okay dad.." she smiled slightly and climbed back into bed, laying down and falling to sleep.

Jai smiled as she called him dad and watched to make sure she crawled back into the bed and fell back asleep almost immediately. Jai decided he should probably go pick up the food, that way when they wake up Bella and the kids could get something to eat. So making sure that everyone was safe he left the room and walked to the restaurant which was inside the hotel only a few hundred yards away. Upon arriving he gave his name and waited only a few moments until his food came. As he waited Jai made the mistake of checking the text messages he had received in the last couple of hours, all from Nina, all asking where he was and if she could buy something with a certain credit card, pointless things for Jai to think about or answer at that moment. So Jai just erased them all and took the food and went back to his room. Opening the door he walked into the room and placed the food on the table near the entrance and glanced quickly at the bed, everyone was still sound asleep, just the way he left them. Jai couldn’t help but smile as he watched his family sleep. Jai contemplated on waking them but decided they could always just heat up the food after and all of them needed sleep. So instead Jai went and sat back on the couch turning on the tv leaving it at a very low volume, almost unrecognizable to the human ear.

Bella screamed in her sleep, waking the other kids up. Maya immediately looked around for Jai, who was immediately at the side of Bella, waking her up.

Screaming over rode his ears as Jai sat upon the couch and he immediately stood up and basically ran to Bella’s side. Bella was obviously having a terrible nightmare and Jai knew he needed to wake her up. Lightly shaking her Jai stood besides her. “Bella…Bella wake up”

Bella woke up, looking around her. It took a while for her to realize where she was. She looked up at Jai and started to cry, resting up against his chest.

Jai held Bella in his arms and brushed the hair out of her face as she started to cry. “Bella it is alright, you are okay” he told her in a comforting voice. Jai began to wander what Bella was dreaming about to make her react the way she did and he planned on asking her later when they talked more about what was to come of the two.

Bella pulled away from him after a while, drying her ters. She stood up, waking Maya and the twins up, "Let's eat kids.." She tried to get the twins food together but she was too unstable to stand so Maya did it. After that she started eating herself.

Watching Bella stand up and wake up the kids Jai just kind of observed how they acted. He noticed Bella’s unstable balance and suddenly Maya was preparing the twins food. He tried to offer his help but Maya told him she was almost done and didn’t mind doing it. Jai looked over at Bella sitting on the bed and then went over and grabbed some food for Bella. Once he retrieved the food he walked over to Bella and sat next to her giving her the food. “Here eat this you need it.” Jai said as he leaned back a little shifting his eyes from Bella to the kids.

Bella bean eating the fod. She couldn't help but notice how jai looked betwen her and the kids, how he looked at Maya for being the "mom" instead of her, "I know what you thinking.."
